Today’s topic is the kimono jacket and how to wear it. When you think of kimono you automatically imagine some kind of Japanese uniform, right? Personally, I think of lightweight cardigan-jacket that is made of silken or semi-sheer fabric. In reality, this is a non-lapel long cardigan-type outerwear garment that can be made of different fabrics. You can incorporate it into anything, starting from boho clothes to office-friendly separates. Anyway, I think we should take a tour through some of my favorite style ideas on wearing kimonos this year.
If you are new to kimonos, then the best way is to try on cool, shiny kimono and pair it with a monochromatic outfit. This way you gonna make jacket stand out. The best look is the golden-hued wrap jacket worn with black top, mini black leather skirt, black tights and multi-buckled ankle-boots. How about adding a little chicness to your everyday looks? You can try on a black-white outfit. I am so in love with an elongated lightweight semi-sheer black printed kimono paired with a simple tee tucked into slim black jeans. This combo is great for making a real statement on the streets. If you are in search of an easy outfit that is both dressy and everyday appropriate, then let it be a cool black tailored kimono. Pair it with a basic white shirt, skinny black leather pants tucked into black leather ankle boots. If you want to wear a printed kimono, then you better choose a plain shirt underneath and keep your bottoms neutral, by wearing skinny jeans. Personally, I do love dressing up my casual separates. If you do want to make the same effect, then be sure to add a dressy kimono jacket. You can also create a fake dress look by wrapping a long knee-length kimono around your body with a help of a skinny belt. If you want to wear a skirt with your kimono jacket, then you better stick to a pencil skirt or flared mini design. I know many gals who wear boyfriends separates. You can add a little femininity to your boyish look by wearing a sexy kimono jacket. All in all, I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
